Why Auction

One of the most asked questions we get is "Why should I have an auction as opposed to just selling on my own?", and the short answer is simple, time and money. On this page I will attempt to get a little more in depth with the answer so you can have a better understanding of why an auction really is the way to go.

The biggest factor involved in selling your personal, estate, or business assets is time. To sell off your items requires time, time, and more time. You have to advertise and wait for someone to call you and make an appointment, or hope that someone just drops by at the right time so you can show them what you have to offer. Even then most people want to come in and pick a few things they are interested in and leave you with the rest so you are back to waiting for someone else to come along and buy the rest. The time required to sell off assets often exceeds the time the owner has available to do so. If you are renting a building or house that the property is in then you probably don't want to have to pay another month's rent, lights, water, etc. which can cut hard into your bottom line. If you don't get it sold in time then you are looking at the prospect of relocating the items, and finding alternate storage. Enter the auction scenario. What I believe to be the biggest asset of the auction is that you have lots of buyers in one place, at one time interested in what you have to sell. Our auction maintains a massive email, fax, and mailing lists of buyers for all types of auctions. That, in addition to our online and social marketing initiatives, attracts buyers to your sale. We put every item up for sale, so when it is all over there is very little left to clean up, and we did it all in one day.

The next factor is of course what is at the top of everyone's mind, the money. To sell your assets yourself you are going to have to come out of pocket somewhere, be it in advertising, time out of your schedule to meet prospective buyers, rent, lights and all the other reasons you are considering selling for. With an auction we will set a date, prep the auction, have the auction and be done. The best part is that in most cases you will not have to come out of pocket. We will handle the costs of advertising and prep work for you and take it out of the proceeds of the sale. Another benefit to the auction is that there is no haggling over price. The auction is efficient and quick. When buyers places a bid, they are making a commitment to buy the item at that price. Try doing that in a yard sale type atmosphere.

The National Auctioneers Association says: "People love auctions, because they love sales. Statistics show, in a good or bad economy auctions remain a steady force. When the economy is bad, the auction industry does not feel the impact: people still flock to auctions." and it is true. The better the assets you are offering, the better the crowd you will have. The buyers will come in droves hoping to get a deal. An auction will motivate buyers to perform. Many people get caught up in the competitiveness of the bidding and often this drives the price of items higher. To some people it's like a game, and they want to win at all costs (or hopefully for you, at high costs!).
